19. Every game knocks out one team, and all but the champion must lose once: 20 − 1 = 19.
How many byes are in a 20 team bracket?
12. Brackets work in powers of two, so 20 teams go into a 32-slot bracket and the 12 empty slots become byes for the top seeds.
How many rounds are there?
5 rounds (the last two are the semifinals and the final).
How many games does each team play?
Between 1 and 5. Teams with a bye can play one fewer.
